“Etymologically, the word “choreography” finds its origin in ancient Greek: choreia, meaning “circular dance,” and graphein, meaning “the written form.” Therefore, I approach the stage as a blank page on which choreography emerges through moving bodies that generate meaning, accessible through imagination.”
Venetsiana Kalampaliki is a dance artist based between Athens and Hamburg. Her artistic practice employs an expanded use of media, including text, voice, and movement, centering the body within sociopolitical contexts of accessibility and inclusion. She engages in collaborations across contemporary dance, visual arts, performance, and disability arts.
